Rohit Upadhyay An Indian journalist found tribal women in Jharkhand are being trafficked
Rohit Upadhyay found evidence tribal women are being trafficked for domestic bonded labor in Jharkhand - but finding out why and who is committing these atrocities is the next step in his investigation. Using video and animation story-telling techniques Upadhyay plans to make a 20-minute documentary. He needs to travel to remote areas to speak to family members of the women, police and district officials, activists, and kin of other girls who have been trafficked. Journalism Centre on Global Trafficking is raising $6,000 USD to complete his investigation and cover costs such as travel expenses, equipment, production, and post-productionexpenses. Upadhyay will share the documentary with his community of over 524,000 YouTube and 127,000 Instagram subscribers.
